Texarkana USA: Miller County Correctional Officer Lisa Mauldin made the ultimate sacrifice on Sunday, December 18, 2016. While in the line of duty Officer Mauldin was killed as she carried out her pledge of protecting those she served. With heavy hearts and sadness for Officer Mauldin’s family and friends, the ArkLaTex 100 Club gave immediate assistance to the family with a $15,000 check to use for any needs. Our prayers are with this family as well as the Miller County Sheriff’s office personnel as they grieve the loss of one of their own. Through the vision of Gail and Ed Eichler, The ArkLaTex 100 Club, Inc. was founded in 2016 and was initially funded by The Clay Eichler Memorial Fund with the sole purpose of benefitting our local police and firefighters in Bowie and Miller Counties. Now a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization, the ArkLaTex 100 Club is charged with raising funds to carry on this incredible selfless purpose and be a resource to those who give their life every day to serve and protect the citizens of Bowie and Miller County. The first priority is to offer immediate financial support to the family of those first responders who are lost in the line of duty and any surplus funding is used for unbudgeted items needed to make these men and women safer while performing their jobs through purchasing life-saving equipment and/or additional safety training.
The ArkLaTex 100 Club is the only citizen-sponsored charitable organization established to support the families of officers and firefighters killed while protecting us. If you wish to help, contributions may be made at www.theArkLaTex100Club.org or mail to The ArkLaTex 100 Club, 2801 Richmond Road, PMB 100, Texarkana, Texas 75503.
